Back-to-School, but Make It Sulit

And just like that… we’re back to the early morning rush.

“Where are your shoes?”
“Did you brush your teeth?”
“Nakuha mo na lunch box mo?”
“Why are you telling me NOW that you need a blue folder?”

Back-to-school season can get expensive fast, but super moms know: we do not replace perfectly good things just because it’s September.

Backpack from last year still good? Use it. Okay pa naman!

Sneakers still fit and still have some life left? Give them a good scrub and back they go. Linisin lang, pwede pa ‘yan!

Clothes? They don’t all have to be brand new. Kids outgrow them in five minutes anyway—and let’s be real, there’s a very good chance that “new” shirt is coming home with ketchup, marker, paint, grass stains, or something we don’t even want to identify.

Pre-loved clothes can be just as cute, comfy, and practical. Give them a good wash, mix them with what your kids already have, and you’re good to go.

Because being a super mom isn’t about buying everything new. It’s about being smart, practical, and knowing where your money is better spent. Sulit dapat!

And one final back-to-school reminder from one mom to another:

LABEL. EVERYTHING.

Water bottles. Sweaters. Lunch bags. Hats. Shoes if you have to.

Because somehow, every school has 47 identical black hoodies and not one child knows which one belongs to them.

And while we’re packing those lunches, maybe we can make them a little extra special too.

I used to put little notes in my kids’ lunchboxes. Sometimes it was a silly joke, sometimes a Bible verse, sometimes a quick “You’ve got this!” or just a simple “Love you.”

Nothing fancy. Just something small to make them smile in the middle of their day.

But being honest here, life got busy… and I just stopped doing it.

No dramatic reason. I just got caught up in the morning rush, packed lunches, school forms, work, errands, and everything else moms juggle.

But this school year, I want to try again.

For all three kids.

And who knows… maybe hubby’s lunch will find a sweet little note in there too. 😂

So moms, let’s make it fun. Write a corny joke. Add a doodle. Share a Bible verse. Write “Good luck on your test!” or simply “Love you. Have a great day!”

It doesn’t have to be Pinterest-perfect. It just has to come from us.

We’re in this together. Let’s try to bring back the lunchbox notes this school year. Even if we only remember some days, that still counts.

Here’s to another school year of packed lunches, missing socks, rushed mornings, little notes, and making every dollar count.

Save smart. Share more. Waste less. 💛
